Thanks. © 2008 Mark Collins 10-06-2010 | Dedication These pages are dedicated to my father who would have loved all this, to my mother who is a true friend, to Jill who lived with a great deal, to my children who keep me young and finally, of course, to Alan for putting up with my (many) eccentricities. During the year 2000 I promised my relatives I would write a history of the Collins family. As it is now approaching the end of 2004, I am long overdue. However in due course and in this electronic format, I will present the fruits of my labours so far. Collins is not an easy name genealogically speaking as it is very common. For example the 1881 census records 46,326 people bearing this name! |
