Rediscovered in 1911, Machu Piccu must surely be the high point of any visit to Peru. This stunning location is reached by a four hour train ride from Cusco which passes through amazing scenery by means of an extraordinary narrow gauge switch back track.
Machu Picchu was never found and looted by the invading Spanish, which explains its excellent state of preservation.
