THE WEST WINDOW

This is perhaps the finest window in the church and is known as the Peter Window.  It depicts events from his life and death and won a prize in the 1851 International Exhibition in London and was presented to the church by the then Rector's brother in law.  Click on the image to see the details.  Across the top is (a) Christ calling Simon, Peter and Andrew; (b) ' Thou art Peter and upon this rock I will build my church'; (c) Peter cutting off the servant's ear; (d) Peter denying the Lord.  The bottom lights are (e) 'Feed my sheep'; (f) Peter and John healing a blind man; (g) an angel feeding Peter in Prison and finally (h) Peter crucified upside down.
