A lovely view of Eridge Road viewed from the Common, posted in 1906. What a pity someone stabbed the front of the locomotive with their pen! The spire of St Mark's Church, Broadwater Down is clear on the horizon.
The London, Brighton & South Coast Railway tank locomotive doesn't appear to have a train.
Alongside the Eridge road is the Brighton Lake, on Tunbridge Wells Common.
Here is a view of Eridge Road as it leaves the town from a Judges postcard - hardly the busy trunk road of today!
