The Post Office, Ashurst, Kent c.1910

Fantastic topiary!  The building is still there today, and was still a shop/post office when I was a teenager.  Today it is a private residence and there is no shop, pub or post office in the village which had all three when I was young in the 1970s.  Such is progress.

The Post Office, Ashurst, Kent from an old postcard

The "country lane" running down the hill towards the mill is now the very busy main road from Tunbridge Wells to East Grinstead.

There are pictures of St Martin of Tours Church, Ashurst, in my Church Album.
