Rye Windmill, Rye, East Sussex - 29th August 2004

The mill complex is now a guesthouse, and in fact all is not as it seems.  The mill is a dummy which was constructed after the original smock mill was destroyed by fire.

Rye Windmill, East Sussex, 29th August 2004 - MTC

There is an antique postcard showing the windmill complete with her sweeps in my postcard album.

I have been provided with information about various Sussex windmills from  Simon Potter who runs a brilliant site about Sussex Mills.

More information on this and other wind and water mills may be found on the excellent  Windmill World site.

Check out my other windmill photographs in my Windmill Album.
