Sailing on the Solent - 21st May 2003

I was invited by a supplier to be a guest on a day's sailing on the Solent.  What a tremendous day out - I had never realised how much was involved in sailing these competition yachts - and very hard work.  However the exhilaration and excitement of being on board at around 10 knots driven by the wind was well worth all the effort!

Here is one of the boats, the sister to the one I was on.  To give you an idea of scale, the mast was in excess of 100 feet tall!
