Glyndebourne, Sussex - 18th July 2003

Together with Alan, I was invited to be a guest at a performance of Mozart's opera Idomeneo at the Glyndebourne Festival, an opportunity I was delighted to accept as I have always wanted to attend this world famous opera house.

The dress code is black tie, and during the intervals it is customary to picnic in the lovely garden.

I thoroughly enjoyed the whole event.  This was my first introduction to Indomeneo, and I confess to finding it less appealing and accessible than the more well known Mozart operas, however the set, music, dancing and singing were fantastic - a truly wonderful afternoon and evening.
