Hestercombe Gardens, near Taunton in Somerset - 27th August 2001

Designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens and planted by Gertrude Jekyll, the Edwardian garden was begun in 1904 and largely completed by 1906. As the finest example of their work together it is consequently one of the most important gardens constructed in the twentieth century - it is truly beautiful and well worth a visit.
