Kinnersly Family - July 1980

During my year long stay in Weymouth I became good friends with Steve and Judith (and their dog Bilberry!).  Steve travelled on the same bus to work as me, and I can remember in depth conversations about theology, Lord of the Rings, music and many other subjects!  They were also members of St Mary's church where I worshipped during my time in Weymouth, and their generosity and hospitality made me feel very welcome, and indeed probably kept me sane!

Steve is an accomplished piano player, and he tolerated my adequate guitar playing in many 'jamming' sessions in his front room - goodness knows how poor Judith coped with the racket!  I still have a tape we made together somewhere in the attic!

We have stayed in 'Christmas card' contact, and I have visited them a few times over the years.  Although we only see each other infrequently, their friendship has been a tremendous support over the years and I will always be in their debt and still know I could always rely on them in a crisis.  True friends indeed.

This photograph was taken in a location overlooking Weymouth harbour.  A train can just be seen traversing the streets in the background.
