Crocosmia Lucifer - 20th July 2003

Family Iridaceae; Genus Crocosmia

Crocosmia (previously known as Montbretia)  is one of my favourite plants, and there are many different varieties available.  This is the most well known of the lot!  Lucifer is a brilliant performer and grows well in our garden.

Just on a point of interest Crocosmia means 'safron smell'.
