I took the first picture in November 2001 when this rather plain building was in a very poor state of repair. During 2002 this building has been renovated and converted into a house. Although no longer a meeting place for the faithful, at least the building has been saved for another use.
The second picture, taken on 19th January 2003, shows the building, now named Chapel Grove, after significant restoration. Sadly the date plaque has gone, replaced with an attractive arched window. Why it was necessary to remove the date from the keystone over the door I have no idea! All in all though, a fairly sympathetic conversion, although I would have used white painted window frames and door; the dark wood replacements seem to increase the sombre nature of an already plain building.
This picture was taken on 17th January 2004, after the erection of a significant extension behind the chapel. The style and architecture of the extension blends in well - although I do wonder what happened about the burials in the graveyard?
