This building (complete with tower with cockerel on top!) is situated in an area of Mayfield known as St Mary in the Fields - perhaps that is the buildings original dedication. On my ordnance survey map it was marked with a simple cross - presumably small towers don't warrant a square under the cross! I wonder how big they have to be?
Searching the web has not yielded further information about this church, however I'm sure I'll discover more one day! If you know please get in touch!
