Garden at 1 Merton Way - Spring 1994

Not really my  taste today, here is the garden of the house where I lived with Jill and the children.  When I dug the pond, the soil was used to level the lawn - I lifted every piece of turf and laid it back using a spirit level to keep it flat - completely bonkers!

I built the wall (9 inch solid, English bond) during the summer of 1993 - it took ages for an unaccomplished bricklayer such as myself!  In retrospect, I feel the wall would have been better without the roof over the gate!

The grille over the pond was to prevent the children falling in.  Before I installed this for safety, Daniel managed to ride his bicycle into the water, giving Jill (and him) rather a fright!
