My map still represents this space in the houses by a cross, my visit was too late to see the church it indicates! The site was formerly occupied by the Kingdom Hall of the Jehovah's Witnesses.
The hall was built in the 1970s and extended in 1976. The Hastings and St Leonards Observer (23rd October 1998) said the building was to be demolished to make way for a massive underground storm water tank to be built by Southern Water. The purpose to reduce the risk of flooding. The congregation would share with the congregation at Stockleigh Park Kingdom Hall in St Leonards. The site was obtained by compulsory purchase.
My thanks to John Gilbert for the Information on this page.
