Taken before the family emigrated from England, from left to right Nellie, aged 5, John Gilbert (Jack) Monk, Kathy (aged 3) , Billy (aged 4) and Lizzie.
There is a second copy of this photograph with the family in Canada, in the keeping of Lois Roberts, which has the date and birthdates of the children written on the back (second picture).
